Is this a poster child for GERBER or what!!!!!

Dani Jo loves her teething ring--Big girl thinks she's something holding it all by herself!!

As you can see, Miss Dani Jo was doing a little flirting with the doctor as he broke the bad news of no surgery--Maybe from her flirting she had this all planned--hee hee!

Daddy gives his baby girl some lovn' while waiting for the doctors decisions on surgery.

I think Lisa and Dani Jo are having just a little too much fun during the day--playing dress up and taking pictures.....LOLOL

Whitney and I stayed the night at the hospital with Dani Jo, and even though we had only about 3 hours sleep, Whitney is never too tired for a little bonding time with my girls!!!

Well, this picture is really all about me----I am 10lbs less--(weight watchers). I looked good in this pic and wanted to publish it---Ha ha..lololol

On our way out the door from the PICU, after not being able to have the surgery, we stopped by the NICU for a little visit to mama Karen!!! I think this made her day!

Hello all! I know it has been a while since our last post. We are all fighting sickness! As you know from the last post-that Dani Jo's surgery was postponed due to an infection in her trach. She is doing better and we are scheduled for appointments on the 27th of March (next week).

Jamie myself and Joey have or have had the flu. I took Jamie to the doctor yesterday and she has "full blown flu"! The doctor told us that it would be a really good idea not to take Jamie home so she wouldn't get Dani Jo sick. So I took Jamie to "Grandma Jane's" house to spend a few days. Also we will be postponing Jamie's birthday party, probably sometime in April. Other than the sickness we are great. As you can see Miss Dani Jo is getting huge!!!!! She is almost 14lbs. Jamie is only 20lbs and Jordan is 29lbs. I think Dani Jo is going to be bigger than all of them. I have had a talk with Dani Jo and told her that if she wants to survive in this crazy house, she's gotta get big enough take them on. Well, she must've listened!!! HEE HEE!

We finally went and got our family portraits made with Suzanne Avera with "Heavenly Angels". She does and awesome job. Below is some of her work. I just love her and she does great with our crazy Hearl Girlz!

Surgery Postponed

Dani Jo came to hospital yesterday afternoon in hopes of having her colostomy reversed, but the surgery was postponed because she had developed an infection in her trach. She spent the night at the hospital. She will probably go home sometime this afternoon.

The doctor has postponed her surgery for about three weeks to make sure the infection is completely gone before the surgery.

Dani Jo has had several members from her first family (NICU staff) stop by and visit her last night and today. Many thanks to Nurse Angela for stopping by and loving on Dani Jo. Most of them are amazed at how much she has grown, but she will be five months old on Wednesday.

Thanks to all of you for your prayers for her today and everyday. We'll keep you posted on the new surgery date when we find out.

Dani Jo is growing fast!!!

Dani Jo loves her rice cereal and baby food! No wonder she is almost 11lbs!

Finally "Papa" Dickie holds me! Oh so gentle!

Hearl Girlz are at it again!

Hanging out in my cradle my Papa Hearl made for me! Thank you Papa!

Nurse Lisa holds me up for a quick picture. I am so making a fashion statement with my new handmade hat made for me from my Nanny.

Dr. Rubin just loves Dani Jo, he talks to her as if he were her own, just after he plays the harmonica for her!

Well, has a lot happened over the past few weeks. We took Dani Jo for a checkup for her CCHS with Dr. Rubin, her colostomy with Dr. Pranikoff and her Trach with Dr. Kirse on Thursday 21st. WOW what a full day. We thought it would be best for her to have all of her appointments all on the same day since they are all at Baptist in Winston. And besides taking her out is not an easy task.

Things to pack:
Diaper bag
Oxygen tank,
Pulse O2 monitor,
Suction machine,
Ventilator,
Suction catheters,
Colostomy supplies,
an extra one of everything.
Oh yeah and let's not forget the baby!

She did really well though! Lisa, one of our nurses, went with us. Couldn't really do it without our nurses. They have both really become a huge part of our family. We love them both dearly and they each bring something different in our home.

Dani Jo is a chunky munk--she weighed 10lbs, and 15oz. Therefore Dr. Kirse said that he thought she was ready for her colostomy to be reversed! YEA! She is scheduled to go in on Sunday, March 9 and is scheduled for surgery on March 10th. She will be there at least a week depending on how she recovers and as long as she stools on her own and eats well. Please say an extra prayer that week.

We have taken her to church 3 times and she has done really well! And of course everyone fell in love with her. It is really hard not to do. She is very precious. Jordan and Jamie absolutely have fallen in love with her also. Jordan has now learned to turn on her Oxygen concentrator and also how to put her tube vent (nose) on her trach when she comes off the vent. She has stepped up to the plate as a big sister. Well, sorry it has been so long since we last posted, but it gets a little hectic around here sometimes. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Dollars for Dani
"Papa" Dickie Crump is working on setting up a benefit fund raiser for Dani Jo in May. We would like for all to come. I will give more details once a date has been set. We are raising money primarily so that Joey and I can go to the CCHS Conference. This conference will give us more knowledge of CCHS along with new research for her disease. Dani Jo will not be able to go with us due to the high elevations on the plane--she is too young at this point. There is a yearly conference so maybe we would be able to take her when she is older. We will see what's new, alternatives for the trach, and new research. The exciting part is that we will meet 200+ sets of parents who have the same disease that Dani Jo has along with their CCHS kids. We are very excited about learning more and meeting other parents. Please pray that God will send the funds for us to be able to attend this conference. May God bless you all. We will post more later in the week! Thanks again for your love and support!

4 MONTHS OLD TODAY!

Whitney and I get some extra loving from our sweet little girl! Dani Jo is 4 months old today. She has her 4 months shots and physical on the 28th. We are so blessed to have this God sent gift! She is doing so well, and is smiling all the time as you can see in the several pics below! Thanks for all your prayers! Love to all!

Taking a look back!

Look what the Lord has done!

Our first born Jordan MarLee Hearl, was a joy as she was our first prize.

Then along came our second Angel, Jamie Lynnette Hearl, our special gift from God!

And now we have been blessed with our third blessing from God, Dani Jo Hearl.

Boy do these kids love "Tummy Time". These are some of my very favorite pictures. Keep praying for our family. We are doing wonderful, but we have all been sick. Thank you all for your visits and phone calls along with the dinners you have given. May God bless you and your family.

Our nurses!
I don't have a picture of our second nurse, Lisa with Dani Jo, but I have to say KUDOS to her! Her and Amber both have already become such a big part of our family and I pray that God allows them to stay with us for a very long time. We love you both and Dani Jo has already gotten attached to them as well!

Still Kicking!

Hi everyone! I know most of you check this daily and I apologize for not posting for a few days. It has definitely been a fast and full two weeks.

Dani Jo is doing great at home. She was coughing some yesterday and Tuesday so I ended up taking her to the Dr. yesterday. He checked her for RSV and thank God it was negative. He said she just had a Sinus Infection and put her on Antibiotic. She is much better today.

I also went to the Dr. yesterday and I have Bronchitis, Sinus Infection and fluid behind my ears. Jordan and Jamie are "I think" almost over their crud. We are all great other than that. Dani Jo is about 10lbs now and eating like a pig! She is smiling a lot and loves for her sisters to talk to her. I will try to post more later!

Grandma Jane gets a little snuggle time with her baby!

It's bath time again!

Daddy don't have a chance at all now with the crazy "Hearl Girls".

Dani Jo is still doing great! We are having some issues with her colostomy bag, but I think we have finally got it to stay for at least a day! Yeah! Dani Jo has 3 Dr's appointments on February 26 at Winston. I am hoping we will receive good news about her colostomy and maybe they will reverse her colostomy very soon! We are going to try to go to church on Sunday--First real "field trip" since her arrival home. We are very excited about getting back to some normal life. Please continue to pray for our family and that Dani Jo can stay away from sickness. We love you all and will continue to keep you all posted!

A BIG THANK YOU!
We just want to thank my sister Michelle and Tammy Haynes from church for lining up meals for our family since we have been home. Thank you are words that will never show our gratitude for this act of kindness. Our lives have definitely been hectic and this has been a relief on my family to not have to worry about meals while we get used to Dani Jo being home. It's a little bit busier with Dani Jo with all of her equipment, but are very blessed to have her home and to have friends and family willing to do what they can to help! Thank you all!

Love,
Joey, Amanda, Jordan, Jamie, & Dani Jo

Just Hangin' Out!

Grandma and PaPa stop by for a special visit today after long awaiting!

I believe Dani Jo has made PaPa's day!

Hi everyone,

It seems that all we do is take pictures of our family with our newest addition. Dani Jo seems very happy and smiles all the time.

Joey and I have been blessed with 3 beautiful angels. We have had some hard times, but today our eyes were opened as we went to Tessa's memorial service. As we looked into the eyes of our dear friends Nancy & Anthony today, our hearts were broken for them. I have posted a picture of our dear friends, please say prayers for this family. They have touched our lives more than they ever know. Please pray for peace and strength for our friends.

Dani Jo really likes her new nurse Amber & I don't think that Amber minds her either.

Sweet Tessa!

Hello everyone,

Please say a special prayer for our very special friends, Nancy and Anthony Woodyard in the loss of their baby girl. Dani Jo and Tessa were room mates at Brenners for a short while. After a long fight, God called Tessa home to be with Him yesterday. Please say a prayer for her parents. Go to www.nancyandbaby.blogspot.com to read about our sweet little Tessa. We love you Tessa and we know that God has you in His arms!

Night Night...Sweet Dreams!

Home Sweet Home!

Tonight, Amanda and I are at home with all of our girls. Dani Jo is sound asleep in her crib. She came home this morning about 11:30. Thank you Michelle and the Cana Rescue Squad for bringing her home safely this morning.

We have our nursing completely staffed. Thank you Interim Healthcare. We met our 1st nurse, Michelle, today. We are very excited about her helping us take care of Dani Jo.

I'll try to post some pictures sometime tomorrow. This afternoon has been a blur. We have been very busy getting all of her equipment set up and getting the nursing all squared away.

We had several visitors today--Aunt Jenn Jenn, Whitney & Ryan, Gram Jane & Papa Dickie, Melanie & Janice, Wayne & Lake--thank you all for your visit today.

Thank you Brenner's Children's Center for all your hard work and dedication to our little baby girl. Teresa, Karen, Lori, Jake, Dr. Parsons, Brian, Erin, Michelle, Pat, the twins, and all of you (I'm sure I left several out, sorry.) Thank you so much. We never imagined when Dani Jo came to you on October 14, that she would be there for 100 days. However, if she couldn't be with us during this time, we are grateful she was with you all.

God bless each and everyone of you that prayed for our little angel and our family. Your faithful prayers will not go unrewarded. Please remember all of the other babies in Brenner's. We were blessed to be able to come home today. We left many parents still waiting for their special day to bring their angel home. One special baby we will remember is Tessa. Anthony and Nancy, we are praying for her and you all. God does not fail.

We love you all,
Joey, Amanda, Jordan, Jamie, and Dani Jo

SHES COMING HOME!!!!

Tuesday is the big day! Dani Jo is coming home! We have all 3 nurses ready to go.

I had a meeting on Wednesday with the Social Worker, the doctor and 2 nurses. I had asked to meet with them to express some feelings that we had. We were told 2 1/2 weeks ago that Dani Jo was medically ready to come home, however the doctors felt that we would get too tired and also they were afraid that Dani Jo may not be covered by insurance since all 3 nurses were not lined up at the time. This was the "assumption" by the doctor that she would not be covered.

We called our case worker at our insurance company on Tuesday of this week just to see if they would cover her if nurses weren't line up. Our case worker stated that "under no circumstances would Dani Jo "not" be covered". This was never confirmed 2 weeks ago it was just assumed. It was also said that this was explained to the social worker at the hospital last week. So we were a bit annoyed when we found this out, so I called for a meeting. I explained at the meeting that we were frustrated that Dani Jo could have possibly come home 2 weeks ago if the insurance information had been verified at that point.

I explained to all of them that I have arranged for Cana Rescue Squad to pick Dani Jo up either Monday or Tuesday. I was told that we did not have any nurses, however I explained that after talking with Amanda at Interim right before the meeting that we did have one nurse, and potentially a second, which was also explained to the social worker last week. I expressed that if Dani Jo was medically ready to come home, then I was requesting that Dani Jo's discharge be Monday or Tuesday. The transport set up for either of those days.

We have just received a phone call from Amanda at Interim with WONDERFUL news that we now have a 3rd nurse! By the 3rd week we should have 7 12's covered! God is still in control.

Please pray for us as we bring our long awaited bundle of joy home. She has been doing awesome all week. She has been smiling to all the nurses. The best news of all is that we have our sweet Dr. Parsons that will discharge Dani Jo on Tuesday. We are meeting with the Pediatric Specialists to go over her equipment on Monday morning at 10am and plan to bring her home at 9am Tuesday morning.

We just want to thank you all for your gifts, prayers, cards, calls, thoughts, and dedication towards our family in this our time of need. The road is all but over, our journey has just begun. Dani Jo has a long road ahead of her, but with our continued prayer and God's unconditional love, we will make it.

Dani Jo will not be able to have a lot of visitors throughout the winter months as she is more prone to respiratory infections due to the trach being an open airway to her lungs. As she grows and the days get warmer we hope to be able to take her out more and receive more visitors. We will continue to keep you all posted on our site with recent pics and her status. Thank you all again for your prayers. We love you all very much more than we can express!
